Regular Season Round 8: Silute - Delikatesas 90-58

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Silute (5-3) smashed at home 10th ranked Delikatesas (3-5) 90-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Delikatesas was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Delikatesas to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Delikatesas 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Delikatesas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Simas Raupys (195-94) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Coach Robertas Kuncaitis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ignas Dauksys (198-93) scored 16 points. Silute moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rasai and Telsiai. Delikatesas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Silute will face Mazeikiai (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Delikatesas will play against the league's second-placed Nafta-Uni. in Klaipeda and hope to win that game.
