No shocking result in a game when third ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (4-2) crushed at home 7th ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (2-3) 82-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Don Bosco Bamberg. Speyer / Schifferstadt was better in second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Speyer / Schifferstadt 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Don Bosco Bamberg made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American power forward Tori Waldner (196-93, college: Penn St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach Ulf Schabacker felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Jennifer Mocanu (172-90) replied with 17 points and Canadian forward Kathryn Verboom (179-86) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Speyer / Schifferstadt. Don Bosco Bamberg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South. Loser Speyer / Schifferstadt dropped to the eighth position with three games lost.
