Regular Season Round 4: Metalac - Spartak 80-85

An interesting game was played in Valjevo where Spartak (#6) beat host Metalac (#7) 85-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Metalac. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatia guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and guard Svetozar Popovic (195-87) who added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side center Milos Jankovic (206-94, agency: AproK Sports Group) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Brano Djukanovic (194-95) scored 14 points (made all of his seven free throws). Four Metalac players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Spartak (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Metalac dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Spartak will meet at home league's leader Vrsac in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Metalac will play against OKK Beograd (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
