Bottom-ranked TuSLi Berlin is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Osnabruecker (3-3) 68-54 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-54. Osnabruecker dominated on the defensive end, holding TuSLi Berlin to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a good game for Canadian guard Amencie Mercier (170-91, college: Northeastern) who led her team to a victory with 21 points. American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Anne Wegner (184-87) replied with 10 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Jenny Menz (184-91, college: UTSA) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for TuSLi Berlin. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Osnabruecker moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Krofdorf/Gleib. Loser TuSLi Berlin still closes the standings with five games lost. Osnabruecker will face B.Loewen (#7) on the road in the next round.
