Regular Season Round 7: Cuxhaven - Wusterhausen 84-56

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Wusterhausen (2-1) against fifth ranked RW Cuxhaven (2-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Wusterhausen was crushed by RW Cuxhaven in Cuxhaven 84-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wusterhausen. RW Cuxhaven dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Wusterhausen's 22 and made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. RW Cuxhaven forced 27 Wusterhausen turnovers. It was a great evening for Croatia point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 assists. American guard Dylan Travis (190-93, college: Florida Southern) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized French Souleymane Diallo (194-88) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Paul Giese (183-97) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. RW Cuxhaven moved-up to third place in North, which they share with defeated Wusterhausen. RW Cuxhaven will meet Weser Bsk/BTS (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Wusterhausen will play against ALBA Berlin II (#7) and hope to secure a win.
