Regular Season Round 9: Vytautas - Juventus 89-84

Everything could happen in Prienai at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Vytautas and 8th ranked Juventus had identical 3-5 record. This time Vytautas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Utena 89-84. The hosts were already 17 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 32-19 last quarter charge of Juventus cut the lead to 89-84 at the end of the game. Vytautas made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) nailed 25 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side and forward Saulius Kulvietis (206-91) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Juventus in the defeat. Vytautas (4-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Neptunas and Nevezis. Juventus at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Vytautas' next round opponent will be Dzukija (#8) in Alytus. Juventus will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris and hope to win that game.
