Regular Season Round 4: Amager - Aabyhoj 73-60

Bottom-ranked Aabyhoj is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Amager (2-2) 73-60 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-60. Amager dominated on the defensive end, holding Aabyhoj to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Aabyhoj 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Catharina Jensen (182-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Filipino-American forward Kelly Hardeman (183-94, college: Azusa Pacific) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Amager's coach Sam Tamargo used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American Mariyah Henley replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Bianca Christiansen (178-90) added 11 points in the effort for Aabyhoj. Amager maintains third position with 2-2 record having just two points less than leader Virum, which they share with SISU. Loser Aabyhoj still closes the standings with four games lost. Amager will face Lemvig (#6) at home in the next round. Aabyhoj will play against the league's leader Virum and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
