Regular Season Round 7: Hannover - Bad Aibling 51-62

We should mention about the upset which took place in Hannover, where 4th placed Hannover (4-3) lost at home to tenth ranked Fireballs (2-5) 51-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Fireballs led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Lindsay Sherbert (184, college: Gonzaga) who led her team to a victory scoring 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import forward Ali Forde (188, college: Idaho) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Senegalese-American center Marie-Sadio Rosche (190-87, college: Dayton) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Fireballs moved-up to ninth place, which they share with BG 89 Avides. Hannover at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Herner. Fireballs will meet at home higher ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hannover will play against TH Wohnbau Angels in Noerdlingen and hope to secure a win.
