Regular Season Round 4: Virum - Amager 51-43

An interesting game for Virum (4-0) which hosted in Virum 3rd ranked Amager (2-2). Top-ranked Virum managed to get a 8-point victory 51-43. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 15-8 last quarter charge of Amager cut the lead to 51-43 at the end of the game. Virum dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 4 points in first quarter. They held Amager to an opponent 21.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Virum forced 21 Amager turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds and international forward Frederikke Mollerup (176-95) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side Filipino-American forward Kelly Hardeman (183-94, college: Azusa Pacific) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Catharina Jensen (182-89) scored 13 points. Amager's coach Sam Tamargo tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Virum have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Amager at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with SISU. Virum will play against bottom-ranked Aabyhoj (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Amager will play against Lemvig (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
