Regular Season Round 9: Vytis - KTU 81-60

We should mention about the upset which took place in Sakiai, where higher ranked KTU (4-5) was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Vytis (3-6) 81-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KTU. The game without a history. Vytis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (194-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) nailed 24 points for the winning side and forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Justinas Marcinkevicius (202-98) came up with 11 points and 5 rebounds and guard Aidas Kavaliauskas (185-95) added 7 points respectively for KTU in the defeat. KTU's coach Vytautas Pliauga gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Vytis moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted KTU keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be Delikatesas (#13) in Joniskis which should be theoretically another easy game.
