Regular Season Round 9: Rasai - Suduva-Mantinga 76-71

The biggest surprise took place in Raseiniai where host Rasai (6-3) beat Suduva-Mantinga (7-2) 76-71 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. Suduva-Mantinga was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) who scored 31 points. Point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) chipped in 4 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Aurimas Kieza (199-82, college: Hofstra) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Rasai moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Silute and Telsiai. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Perlas-MRU. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nafta-Uni.. Suduva-Mantinga will play next round against Zalgiris II trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rasai will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai.
