Regular Season Round 8: Wusterhausen - ALBA Berlin II 74-76

Important game to mention about took place in Wildau. Seventh ranked ALBA Berlin II (2-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Wusterhausen (2-2) 76-74 in the fight for the fifth place. ALBA Berlin II forced 20 Wusterhausen turnovers. Strangely Wusterhausen outrebounded ALBA Berlin II 30-16 including a 21-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wusterhausen was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Bennet Hundt (180-98, college: High School) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points. Power forward Filip Stanic (204-98) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Nico Draegert (208-90) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Dmitrij Hasenkampf (193-86) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wusterhausen. Four Wusterhausen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. ALBA Berlin II moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with defeated Wusterhausen. ALBA Berlin II will face Weser Bsk/BTS (#10) in Neustadt in the next round where they are favorite. Wusterhausen will play on the road against Vechta-2 (#8) and hope to win that game.
