Very important is a home loss of second ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (4-2) against eighth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (2-4) on Saturday night. Host Redwell Gunners Oberwart was crushed by Kapfenberg Bulls in Oberwart 70-48. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Redwell Gunners Oberwart. The game was mostly controlled by Kapfenberg Bulls. Redwell Gunners Oberwart was better in third quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kapfenberg Bulls dominated on the defensive end, holding Redwell Gunners Oberwart to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Redwell Gunners Oberwart 36-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Croatia power forward Milan Stegnjaic (204-81) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (190-92) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 15 points and the other American import guard Chris McNealy (194-92, college: Cal-Irvine) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Redwell Gunners Oberwart in the defeat. Redwell Gunners Oberwart's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UBSC Graz. Defending champion Redwell Gunners Oberwart keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Arkadia and Gmunden. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against bottom-ranked Dukes (#9) in Klosterneuburg in the next round. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play on the road against Furstenfeld Panthers (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
