Regular Season Round 5: Istanbul BBSK - Usak 87-85

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Istanbul BBSK (2-3) edged at home 9th ranked Usak Sportlif (2-3) 87-85 on Saturday. Slovenia swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists and the other American import power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason, agency: BeoBasket) added 24 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Usak Sportlif. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Istanbul BBSK moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tofas and Usak. Istanbul BBSK will face bottom-ranked Trabzonspor (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
