There was a minor upset when 4th placed Licher Basket (4-3) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (4-3) 74-70. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Devon Baulkman (193-91, college: Tennessee) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Center Bjoern Rohwer (212-95) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard K.K. Simmons (191-93, college: Pikeville) added 19 points respectively for Licher Basket in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Weissenhorn Youngstars moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Licher Basket. Licher Basket lost their third game in a row. Weissenhorn Youngstars' next round opponent will be BG Karlsruhe (#8) on the road. Licher Basket will play against the league's second-placed FC Bayern II (#2) in Muenchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
