Regular Season Round 10: Dzukija - Vytautas 49-68

The game in Alytus supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Vytautas (5-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Dzukija (3-7). Vytautas did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 68-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Vytautas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Vytautas outrebounded Dzukija 44-32 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Vytenis Lipkevicius (196-89) notched 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Saulius Kulvietis (206-91) supported him with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 12 points and 8 rebounds by forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) did not help to save the game for Dzukija. Spanish guard Alejandro Hernandez (189-90) added 6 points for lost side. Vytautas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas and P.Zvaigzdes. Dzukija lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Juventus. Vytautas will meet at home league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dzukija will play against Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
