There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Rostock (3-4) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Schalke (3-4) 102-73. Schalke outrebounded Rostock 45-24 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Courtney Belger (188-89, college: Quincy) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Irish guard Patrick Carney (185-85, college: Chapman) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Schalke players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Andres Murillo (201-90, college: Biola, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 23 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Jarvis Davis (183-91, college: Gardner-Webb) added 21 points respectively for Rostock in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Schalke moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Rostock. Schalke's next round opponent will be higher ranked Oldenburg (#6) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
