Regular Season Round 8: Rosenheim - Schwabing 61-85

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Schwabing and 12th ranked Rosenheim had identical 2-4 record. But Rosenheim was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Schwabing 85-61 on Saturday night. Schwabing dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Rosenheim's 28 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rosenheim 40-26 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Schwabing made 7 blocks. Forward Oscar Da Silva (206-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Chris Wurmseher (192-97) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Coach Robert Scheinberg's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Adrian-Constantin Gheorghiu (200-90) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and British guard Ishmael Fontaine (189-89) added 11 points in the effort for Rosenheim. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Schwabing (3-4) moved-up to seventh place in South-East, which they share with Ansbach and Zwickau. Loser Rosenheim dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Schwabing will face higher ranked Vilsbiburg (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rosenheim will play against Jena II (#6) and hope to win that game.
