Regular Season Round 10: Lietuvos rytas - P.Zvaigzdes 94-57

An interesting game for Lietuvos rytas (7-3) which hosted in Vilnius one of their biggest challengers P.Zvaigzdes (5-5). Third ranked Lietuvos rytas had an easy win 94-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of P.Zvaigzdes. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to P.Zvaigzdes' 26. Lietuvos rytas forced 19 P.Zvaigzdes turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lietuvos rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) who helped to win the game recording 14 points. American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Lietuvos rytas' coach Tomas Pacesas felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St., agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 12 points and 4 assists and swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) added 14 points in the effort for P.Zvaigzdes. Lietuvos rytas maintains third position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. P.Zvaigzdes at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Neptunas and Vytautas. Lietuvos rytas are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round where they are favorite. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Siauliai (#10) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
