A very close game took place in Mersin between Mersin BSB and Abdullah Gul. Mersin BSB (2-1) got a very close home victory over Abdullah Gul (2-1). Mersin BSB managed to escape with a 1-point win 75-74 in the game for the third place. Mersin BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuania center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists and Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Abdullah Gul players scored in double figures. Mersin BSB will meet Girne Univ. (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abdullah Gul will play against Adana ASKI (#8) in Mersin and hope to secure a win.
