Regular Season Round 3: Istanbul Univ. - Hatay 76-75

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Hatay (0-3) to Istanbul Uni (2-1) 76-75 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was an exceptional evening for Latvia power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Kazakhstan-Belarusian forward Katerina Snytsina (188-85) came up with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) added 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Hatay in the defeat. Four Istanbul Uni and five Hatay players scored in double figures. Istanbul Uni's next round opponent will be Osmaniye (#9) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Hatay will play against Samsun and hopes to get finally their first victory.
