Regular Season Round 3: Botas - Mersin MBK 83-88

Another exciting game was played in Adana between Mersin MBK and Botas where Mersin MBK (2-1) beat Botas (1-2) on the road 88-83. It was a great shooting night for Mersin MBK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Botas was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Jamierra Faulkner (168-92, college: S.Mississippi) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Mersin MBK's coach Murat Alkas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Matee Ajavon (173-86, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) added 20 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals in the effort for Botas. Mersin MBK will play against Yakin Dogu BGD (#3) in Istanbul in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Botas will play on the road against Galatasaray (#2) in Istanbul to get more than just one victory in their record.
