Regular Season Round 5: DVUFK - HAI 32-58

Bottom-ranked DVUFK (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to seventh ranked HAI (2-4) 58-32 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. HAI led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding DVUFK to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 12 points in second half. HAI held DVUFK to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.8 percent accuracy of the winners. HAI forced 29 DVUFK turnovers. Point guard Nataliya Pokrovenko (170-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and power forward Svitlana Radionova (184-97) chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Tamara Budonna (170-1) responded with 2 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Oksana Fastova (173-99) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. DVUFK's coach Oleksandr Cherednichenko gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. HAI maintains seventh place with 2-4 record. DVUFK lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. HAI will face higher ranked Suzirja (#4) in Rivne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DVUFK will play on the road against Tavriyska Zivka (#8) in Kherson and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
