There was no surprise in Mugla where 12th ranked Yalova Vip (3-4) was defeated by seventh ranked Bodrum (5-1) 62-53 on Sunday. Bodrum forced 21 Yalova Vip turnovers. Strangely Yalova Vip outrebounded Bodrum 42-27 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Shay Selby (175-90, college: Duke) fired 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Gamze Turkoglu (195-83) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Nilay Aydogan (-92) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and American center Akila McDonald (193-91, college: S.Florida) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Yalova Vip's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bodrum moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cankaya. Loser Yalova Vip keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. Bodrum will face Nevsehir Uni (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Yalova Vip will play against the league's leader Edremit (#1) and hope to win that game.
