Regular Season Round 7: Wasserburg II - Weiterstadt 68-79

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Weiterstadt (4-2) won against on the road 10th ranked Wasserburg II (1-5) 79-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Weiterstadt. Wasserburg II was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Weiterstadt forced 21 Wasserburg II turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Ana-Maria Kammer (180-86) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points. Guard Christina Krick (169) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Weiterstadt players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Liz Wood (178-93, college: Maine) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) scored 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Weiterstadt. They moved-up to third place in South. Wasserburg II lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Weiterstadt will face Homburger TG (#4) at home in the next round. Wasserburg II will play against Friendsfactory Germering (#5) and hope to win that game.
