Regular Season Round 7: B.Loewen - Osnabruecker TB 79-71

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked B.Loewen and 8th ranked Osnabruecker had identical 3-4 record. This time B.Loewen used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Osnabrueck 79-71 on Sunday night. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Osnabruecker's 40. They outrebounded Osnabruecker 49-29 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Catrina Green (188-92, college: Gardner-Webb) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Her fellow American import Ja'Nee Morton (175) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four B.Loewen players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian guard Amencie Mercier (170-91, college: Northeastern) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Larissa Schwarz (176-91) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for B.Loewen. They moved-up to fifth place in North. Newly promoted Osnabruecker dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. B.Loewen will face SG BBZ Opladen (#7) in Leverkusen in the next round. Osnabruecker will play at home against Krofdorf/Gleib. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
