Regular Season Round 10: Juventus - Zalgiris 66-90

LKL top team - Zalgiris (9-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Juventus (3-7) in Utena 90-66. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Paulius Jankunas (205-84) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French guard Leo Westermann (197-92, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Dovis Bickauskis (188-93) responded with 14 points and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Dzukija. Zalgiris will play against Vytautas (#5) in Prienai in the next round. Juventus will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis in Panevezys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
