The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Raiffeisen Wels (5-2) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Vienna (3-4) 86-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Raiffeisen Wels. Raiffeisen Wels were trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of Vienna, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Raiffeisen Wels outrebounded Vienna 41-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa) helped adding 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Kevin Payton (196-86, college: Minnesota) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vienna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 3-4 record. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Vienna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Raiffeisen Wels will play on the road against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
