Regular Season Round 8: Socar Petkim - Bursaspor 74-76

The most exciting game of round 8 in the TBL took place in Petkim. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Socar Petkim (5-3) to seventh ranked Bursaspor (5-3) 76-74 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Socar Petkim. Strangely Socar Petkim outrebounded Bursaspor 34-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-85) who added 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. American power forward Alex Oriakhi (208-90, college: Connecticut) responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import point guard T.J. Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bursaspor have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Socar Petkim. Bursaspor is looking forward to face Duzce Belediye (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Socar Petkim will play against Acibadem (#9) in Istanbul and is hoping to win this game.
