The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Kibirkstis-VICI as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kibirkstis-VICI smashed bottom-ranked Ukmerges in Vilnius 114-41. The game without a history. Kibirkstis-VICI led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ukmerges to just 4 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. Kibirkstis-VICI held Ukmerges to an opponent 22.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Kibirkstis-VICI forced 23 Ukmerges turnovers and outrebounded them 54-29 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kibirkstis-VICI looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Ukmerges' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kibirkstis-VICI made 9 blocks. Center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. Five Kibirkstis-VICI players scored in double figures. American guard Olivia Brown (172-94, college: Alcorn St.) produced 17 points and Aurelija Putramentaite (180-95) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kibirkstis-VICI have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Suduva. Newly promoted Ukmerges still closes the standings with six games lost. Ukmerges will play next round against strong Fortuna trying to get back on the winning streak. Kibirkstis-VICI will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas at home.
