Everything could happen in Afyonkarahisar at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Afyon Bld and 5th ranked Turk Telekom had identical 5-2 record. This time Afyon Bld used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ankara 100-87 on Wednesday night. Afyon Bld dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American point guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) produced 31 points and Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Afyon Bld maintains fourth position with 6-2 record. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Afyon Bld will meet at home league's second-placed Istanbulspor in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Turk Telekom will play against Yalova Bld and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the BSL just one year after relegation.
