Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Third ranked Besiktas (5-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Darussafaka (3-3) 77-75 on Saturday evening. Besiktas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) notched 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Darussafaka. French Adrien Moerman (202-88) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Besiktas maintains third position with 5-1 record behind leader Anadolu Efes, which they share with Fenerbahce. Darussafaka at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with Demir IBB. Besiktas will play against Galatasaray (#5) in Istanbul in the next round. Darussafaka will play at home against TED Kolejliler and hopes to get back on the winning track.
