Regular Season Round 8: Oradea - BC Timisoara 84-82

A very close game took place in Oradea between Oradea and BC Timisoara. Third ranked Oradea (5-2) got a very close home victory over 4th ranked BC Timisoara (4-4). Oradea managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Timisoara won fourth quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Bulgaria guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 13 points and 9 assists. American forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Cuba-American center Adrian Diaz (213-93, college: FIU) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-84) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-2 record behind leader UBT Cluj Napoca. Loser BC Timisoara dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Oradea will meet at home CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Timisoara will play against Olimpic (#11) and hope to secure a win.
