Regular Season Round 9: Giessen 46ers - Brose Bask. 77-79

Ninth-ranked Giessen 46ers (4-5) made lots of trouble for leader Brose Baskets (10-0) on Saturday. The visitors from Bamberg managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Brose Baskets made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Greek guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83) who scored 18 points and 6 assists. American guard Darius Miller (202-90, college: Kentucky) chipped in 20 points. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) who recorded 30 points (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and British-Canadian forward Thomas Scrubb (198-91) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Giessen 46ers at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Wuerzburg. Brose Baskets are looking forward to face ALBA Berlin (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Giessen 46ers will play against BG Goettingen (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
