Regular Season Round 8: Jahn Muenchen - Wasserburg II 70-63

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Wasserburg II (1-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Friendsfactory Germering (4-3) 70-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after three quarters before their 25-4 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Friendsfactory Germering dominated on the defensive end, holding Wasserburg II to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Wasserburg II only scored five points from the stripe. Wasserburg II was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international Anne Breitreiner (184-84) who scored 27 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Magdalena von Geyr (180-84) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Priscilla-Chiara Waterloh (185-94) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Friendsfactory Germering moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg. Wasserburg II lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Friendsfactory Germering will face Homburger TG (#6) on the road in the next round. Wasserburg II will play against ASC Theresianum Mainz (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
