Regular Season Round 12: KTU - Zalgiris II 89-63

The game with biggest result difference took place in Kaunas. Local KTU (6-6) outscored 10th ranked Zalgiris II (4-8) 89-63 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by KTU. Zalgiris II was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTU dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris II's 28. KTU forced 22 Zalgiris II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Arturs Pelss (181-87) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Ignas Labutis (198-94) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four KTU players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KTU moved-up to seventh place. Loser Zalgiris II keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. KTU will face league's second-placed Rasai in Raseiniai in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zalgiris II will play at home against Silute (#6) and hope to win that game.
