Regular Season Round 8: Yalova Vip - Edremit 73-71

Important game to mention about took place in Yalova. Fourteenth ranked Yalova Vip (4-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-ranked Edremit (6-2) 73-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Edremit. They outrebounded Edremit 49-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Akila McDonald (193-91, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 21 rebounds and 7 assists and Nilay Aydogan (-92) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. Yalova Vip's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-93, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and forward Betul Pehlivan (178-88, agency: LBM Management) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Yalova Vip moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Orduspor and Ferko Ilgaz. Edremit at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Mersin Univ. and Izmit. Yalova Vip will play against Ferko Ilgaz (#11) in Kastamonu in the next round. Edremit will play at home against Nevsehir Uni (#18) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
