The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Osnabruecker's (3-6) home loss to eighth ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (4-4) 40-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Krofdorf/Gleib.. Osnabruecker was better in second period 12-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Erin Bratcher (175-92, college: Charleston So.) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Julia Gaudermann (166-92) chipped in 13 points. Four Krofdorf/Gleib. players scored in double figures. American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Amencie Mercier (170-91, college: Northeastern) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Osnabruecker's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Krofdorf/Gleib. moved-up to sixth place in North. Osnabruecker lost third consecutive game. Osnabruecker at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Krofdorf/Gleib. will face SG BBZ Opladen (#8) in Leverkusen in the next round. Osnabruecker will play on the road against Baskets Grunberg in Gruenberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
