Regular Season Round 12: Budivelnyk - Kryvbas 60-62

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Kyiv. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Budivelnyk (8-4) to fourth ranked Kryvbas (7-3) 62-60 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Budivelnyk. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Budivelnyk won fourth quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kryvbas dominated on the defensive end, holding Budivelnyk to just 5 points in second quarter. It was a good game for international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Mykola Vilkhovetskyi (189-88) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Sergey Gorbenko (202-85) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Budivelnyk. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kryvbas maintains fourth position with 7-3 record. Budivelnyk at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Kryvbas are looking forward to face Bipa Basket (#5) in Odessa in the next round. Budivelnyk will play on the road against VolinBasket in Lutsk and is hoping to win this game.
