LPB top team - Benfica (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Electrico FC (1-5) in Ponte de Sor 85-62. The game without a history. Benfica led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Benfica forced 22 Electrico FC turnovers. The best player for the winners was American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Raven Barber (206, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Joao Lanzinha (191-89) who recorded 7 points and 7 rebounds and Cape Verdean forward Kevin Coronel (197-91) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Benfica have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Electrico FC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with five games lost. Benfica will meet Oliveirense (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Electrico FC will play against Lusitania in Angra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
