No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Gmunden Swans (5-2) defeated at home 8th ranked UBSC Graz (2-5) 78-70. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 16-12 UBSC Graz's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-70 at the end of the game. Gmunden Swans players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by UBSC Graz's players. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Lithuania center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Anton Maresch (191-91) added 18 points and 5 steals in the effort for UBSC Graz. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans moved-up to second place, which they share with Oberwart. UBSC Graz lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. Gmunden Swans will play against Arkadia Lions (#4) in Traiskirchen in the next round. UBSC Graz will play at home against Kapfenberg Bulls (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
