Regular Season Round 11: Lietkabelis - Juventus 77-84

The game between second ranked Lietkabelis (8-3) and eighth ranked Juventus (4-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Lietkabelis was defeated by Juventus in a tough game in Panevezys 77-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lietkabelis won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 41-26 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Power forward Simas Galdikas (204-87) responded with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Lorenzo Williams (190-84, college: Rice) scored 8 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Lietkabelis' coach Kazys Maksvytis rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nevezis. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Lietuvos rytas. Juventus is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Siauliai (#10) on the road in the next round. Lietkabelis will play against Neptunas (#4) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
