Rather predictable result when third ranked Weiterstadt (5-2) outscored at home 6th ranked Homburger TG (3-3) 89-60 on Sunday. The game without a history. Weiterstadt led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Weiterstadt outrebounded Homburger TG 42-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Homburger TG's players. The best player for the winners was forward Ana-Maria Kammer (180-86) who scored 38 points (!!!) and 4 assists. American-Polish center Sam Lapszynski (190, college: Niagara) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Celia Marfone (183-94, college: Cal-Davis) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Weiterstadt have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in South with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Wolfenbuettel. Loser Homburger TG keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Weiterstadt will face Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#5) on the road in the next round. Homburger TG will play against Friendsfactory Germering and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
