No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked BG Goettingen (5-5) defeated at home 13th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (3-7) 82-78 on Sunday. Deutsche Bank Skyliners were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jesse Sanders (190-89, college: Liberty) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. BG Goettingen's coach Johannes Roijakkers used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Danish guard Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for BG Goettingen. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with EWE Baskets. Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. BG Goettingen will face Giessen 46ers (#10) at home in the next round.
