Regular Season Round 6: Banvit BK - Tofas 84-82

Tenth-ranked Tofas (2-4) gave a tough game to top-ranked Banvit (6-0) in Balikesir on Sunday. Banvit managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Lithuania swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 25 points and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bulgaria power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Dominican-American forward Ronald Roberts (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Banvit have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Usak and Istanbul BBSK. Banvit is looking forward to face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tofas will play at home against Gaziantep (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
