Very predictable result in Noerdlingen where fourth ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (6-2) smashed bottom-ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (2-7) 86-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gruner Stern Keltern. TH Wohnbau Angels managed to win third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Belgian Emmanuella Mayombo (170-92, agency: LBM Management) who scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian Marina Markovic (185-91) chipped in 16 points. Five Gruner Stern Keltern players scored in double figures. Gruner Stern Keltern's coach Christian Hergenroether felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Aleksandra Racic (181-90) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) added 15 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Gruner Stern Keltern have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser TH Wohnbau Angels dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Bad Aibling. Gruner Stern Keltern will meet Rotenburg/Scheessel (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against Eisvogel Freiburg (#9) and hope to secure a win.
