Regular Season Round 13: Perlas-MRU - Nafta-Uni. 77-95

Another interesting game for Nafta-Uni. (10-3) which played in Vilnius against 3rd placed Perlas-MRU (9-4). Fourth ranked Nafta-Uni. had an easy win 95-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It looked good early as Perlas-MRU took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nafta-Uni. had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and Perlas-MRU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-95. Nafta-Uni. made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Perlas-MRU turnovers. Perlas-MRU was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Edvinas Alunderis (202-92) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and point guard Deividas Anuzis (182-92) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Four Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Lukas Kvedaravicius (206-97) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Aistis Pilauskas (182-98) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nafta-Uni. moved-up to second place, which they share with Rasai. Perlas-MRU at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Telsiai. Nafta-Uni. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Perlas-MRU will play again on the road against Nafta-Uni. (#3) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
