Regular Season Round 10: Mamak DSI - Gelisim 87-86

A very close game took place in Ankara between Mamak DSI and Gelisim. Fourteenth ranked Mamak DSI (4-6) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Gelisim (4-6). Mamak DSI managed to escape with a 1-point win 87-86 in the fight for the tenth place. Mamak DSI made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Ramel Bradley (188-85, college: Kentucky) supported him with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Mamak DSI's coach Haydar Kemal Ates used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) did not help to save the game for Gelisim. Forward Murat Erensoy (201-91) added 18 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Mamak DSI moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Gelisim. Mamak DSI will meet higher ranked Samsun (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gelisim will play against Socar Petkim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
