Regular Season Round 6: Virum - Stevnsgade 55-45

An exciting game was played in Virum. Top-ranked Virum faced 4th ranked Stevnsgade. Host Virum (6-0) defeated guests from Stevnsgade (2-4) 55-45. The game was mostly controlled by Virum. Stevnsgade managed to win fourth quarter 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Virum forced 19 Stevnsgade turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. The other American import guard Gillian Abshire (179-93, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Virum's coach Sergio Cubeiro used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Katrine Dyszkant (184-86) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Virum have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Stevnsgade at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with SISU. Virum are looking forward to face SISU (#6) in Copenhagen in the next round where they are favorite. Stevnsgade will play at home against Amager and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
