Regular Season Round 12: Dzukija - Nevezis 66-63

A very close game took place in Alytus between Dzukija and Nevezis. Ninth ranked Dzukija (4-8) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Nevezis (4-8). Dzukija managed to escape with a 3-point win 66-63 in the game for the eighth place. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Dzukija made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Nevezis turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and Spanish guard Alejandro Hernandez (189-90) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Dzukija's coach Andrej Urlep used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Ivan Smiljanic (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and forward Justas Sinica (203-85) scored 16 points. Dzukija moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Nevezis. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. Dzukija will meet higher ranked Neptunas (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nevezis will play against Juventus (#5) in Utena and hope to secure a win.
